Pastor Gwendolyn Priester
Pastor Gwendolyn Priester was baptized in Jesus Name at the age of 5 and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 8, under the pastorate of  Bishop Milton Hobbs of Faith Temple New Hope Church, East Orange, N.J.  She received further spiritual leadership from the late Mother Esther J. Lane of Evangelistic Mission, East Orange, N.J. and served faithfully for 19 years under Bishop Ronnie Amos Jr. of Grace Apostolic Church, East Orange, N.J. 

By the leading of the Lord, Pastor Priester and her family migrated to the Jersey Shore area in 1990 and joined in ministry with Greater Emanuel Temple, Neptune, N.J. under the anointed, life changing leadership of Bishop Carolyn A Webb.  There she worked and supported the ministry faithfully as a Deaconess, Directress of the Adult Choir, Young Adult Sunday School Teacher, Virtuous Women’s Instructor, Administrator of the Tutoring Program, New Members Class Instructor, Trustee Board member, Building Fund Committee member, Music Ministry Board member and Director of the Performing Arts Ministry. 

On February20, 2001, after attending the Christian Institute of Divinity Studies, she was licensed and ordained as an  Elder.  In May 2010 she became the Assistant Pastor of Greater Emanuel Temple.  Little did she know that God was preparing her for a higher calling and on July 13, 2014 she was ordained as the Senior Pastor of Greater Emanuel Temple.  She gives all the glory and honor to God and is thankful for the foundational principles deposited in her life by such awesome spiritual mothers and fathers in the gospel.

Pastor Priester holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Montclair State College in Family and Child Services, and certifications for Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  She is a licensed N.J. Realtor and Notary Public.  She is currently the Director of the Foreign Missions for the Eastern Caribbean Council of Nation (ECCN) of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and presently  lends her support to the Abury Park/Neptune Ministerial Alliance.  She was a former board member of the Division of Social Services for the township of Neptune, N.J.  Pastor Priester retired as a Billing Supervisor in June of 2014 from FirstEnergy Corporation after 28 years of service.

Pastor Priester has been married to Elder (Sir) Donald Priester since January 24th, 1976.  They were blessed with 2 wonderful children, Donnie Priester Jr, who is resting in the arms of the loving Savior and Regina Danielle Peten.  God has given them more than double for their troubles and blessed them with a wonderful son-in-law, Assistant Pastor Elder Lionel Peten and 4 lovely grandchildren, Brandon, David, Jonathan and Alexis.

Our First Man Sir Donald Priester

Elder Donald Priester was baptized in Jesus name and received the Holy Ghost in July of 1975 under the Pastorate of Bishop Ronnie Amos Jr. of Grace Apostolic Church, East Orange, N.J.  There he served as an ordained deacon, usher, praise leader, choir member and Sunday School teacher.  He later migrated to the Jersey Shore area with his family and joined Greater Emanuel Temple in July of 1991 where he continued to serve as a deacon and assistant Sunday School teacher and then elevated to the position of “Ordained Elder” on January 29, 2012.

Graduating from Essex County College with an Associates Degree in Accounting, Elder Donald Priester furthered his education by attending Rutgers University and graduated with a B.A. in Economics. He proudly served in the U.S.  Air Force from 1962 to 1966 and fought in the Vietnam War.  He worked for many years for the U.S. Postal Service and retired from the Asbury Park School system as a Para Professional teacher.  He currently holds a N.J. Real Estate License.

Elder Priester has a wonderful testimony that he called on the name of Jesus some 42 years ago in a tragic accident that took the life of his brother but his life was saved!   Elder’s favorite scripture is found in Matthew  24: 27  - “for as the lightening cometh out of the east and shineth even unto the west, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be .”

Elder Donald Priester, also known as “Sir Priester” married Pastor Gwendolyn Priester on January 24, 1976 and has been by her side since.  They have a wonderful daughter and son in law, Regina and Lionel and four grandchildren that they adore (Brandon, David, Jonathan and Alexis).
